These days, there are people that have NOT ONCE held a real, bound book in their hands TO READ FOR PLEASURE! They’ve never known the joy and excitement of sneaking under the covers with a book, excited to DISOBEY BEDTIME RULES… because I simply couldn’t wait till morning to read my new Nancy Drew book! I also read before school, after school, before bed, in addition to after bedtime lol (🤫)! My weekends often consisted of biking to the local library AT LEAST ONCE!!!!! Ah yes……indeed those were the days!

@@LucasFernandez-fk8se The problem was that after WW2, a lot of those rights were revoked again. Men fought in the war and women did a lot of jobs that man used to have. And they succeded! After war, a lot of men disliked that a woman could do a man's jobs and they got a lot stricter again. There's a lot of intersting studies on that. Sadly, many men came back with PTSD and difficulties in emotions. As a result, it was common to beat your wives and tell them that all women are worth less than men. They needed permission of a male guardian for a lot of things like getting a job or having a savings account. Your hard work has really paid off as your home is so cosy and inviting. My home here in England has been in our family for 500 years and is filled with furniture, paintings and objects bought by my ancestors, so there's no real opportunity to replace anything as it's all very sentimental. I love it here and appreciate that it's nice to walk in my ancestors footsteps as it were, however I would love to be able to do as you have and put my own stamp on things. I once suggested that we update our dinner service and was met by a chuckle from my Father and a look of horror from my Mother who quickly informed me that the service was 'fairly new' and 'perfectly acceptable' - it's Georgian.
