Yup. Started out with Telstar album by the Ventures. Our 1973 band played a lot of WA. Time Was always popular, no one ever knew who did it.

Ritchie Blackmore once said that Andy Powell is one of very few guitarists that HE admire, and who really are good guitarist. If Ritchie say so, who are we to disagree. But in my opinion, he forgot to mentionTed Turner and Laurie Wisefield too....All three of them are brilliant....

I've loved this band ever since I bought Argus. Could not get past the first side. Just had to keep playing that over and over. Finally, I got to the second side, and same thing there too. Had to rush out and get their first two albums. I've been playing since 71, and these so talented guys provided volumes of inspiration. God bless em'.
@ndav56772 жыл бұрын
Totally agree Alan................I saw them many times in the 70s and was never less than in awe. When you consider that Andy Powell and Ted Turner were only in their v early twenties when they brought out Wishbone Ash 1, i'm amzed at how good they were. Have just bought tickets to see Martin Turner's WA in March...............they still bloody good

Revisiting this video April 2023 - a song that builds up is always intriguing, but I could do without the first 4 minutes or so....BUT once Laurie starts that solo around 4:50, and the rest of them kick in at 7:05 it is one of the best rock jams in history. The interplay between the guitars is so awesome - watching them play it is part of the awesomeness! They know what each will do, and it all fits together sooooo well. This song is not just guitar solos but an orchestration between 4 musicians - the practice it must have taken!
