I love these old documentaries but I was out of milk and started craving it so bad I ran to the gas station at 3:00 a.m. to get a gallon LOL now drinking a big ice cold glass of milk watching it is even better

This was a very interesting film in several respects. My great-great, great, and grandfathers had a dairy farm. They also had a dairy business which served our area. I believe that excess milk went to city dairies in the Hartford, Conn. area. A few years ago a friend found one of our old bottles on Ebay for me.

I live in New York State where a local farm has integrated the whole process. Their milk is sold in supermarkets, as well as their own store at the farm. They even have home delivery. The best part is that they sell milk in glass bottles. I agree that it seems fresher than plastic or cardboard containers.

my aunt and uncle lived and worked on a Dairy farm in Lodi ca and once a month we would go there and have dinner then walk off the dinner by walking around the dairy and talk to cows and ride the calf feeding machine which was on rails and the big tank was in the milking area and could hold several thousand gallons of FRESH MILK and yes the tank was at a temperature of 40 degrees some times lower and there was a tap at the bottom of the tank where you could put a gallon jug under and get cold milk

So amazing! One of my favorite memories was the sound of the milk man coming by very early and the bottle gently clinking as he exchanged them...every day all year. Thank you to all the people involved in providing the milk😊
