POC, you mentioned Paraffin heater, never heard of one (along with so many other things). Had to go look up what Paraffin was, found out it's a more refined and distilled version of kerosene, runs cleaner and produces less soot and fumes. I bet the warm glow goes a long way to assist the heater. You know, the mind is a wonderous thing, second to the ticker. Thanks for the video, learn something every day.

Was raised using a kerosene heater. Got to use the new ones in Japan. My ex wife gave me hers when she moved a couple of years ago. Yes it gets cold enough in Bermuda to use a heater in the winter! I'm also making a silent air compressor. I was able to take the valve off the top with out cutting the metal guard off! It took some doing, but I want that to sit the fridge motor on. I bought a medium size gas tube from a lady that bought the wrong size for her barbecue. So, I'm getting there!

In the late 20th century my father had a drip burner furnace (kerosene maybe?) at his off-premises office. Learned the hard way not to leave unattended. Upon returning one day, the whole quarters were filled with smoke. The HVAC man replaced heater with natural gas the very next day. Still miss that old burner.

My grand parents had a number of these types of heater in their small printing business workshop in the 1950's and 60's. I remember helping my gran to fill and light them up. She also had a couple of the upright models. This video brought back very happy memories from my childhood. Many thanks for posting.

Looks a treat POC. I remember them well. It’s a pity that paraffin is so expensive now. They were a very good heater. Nice find.

I had one years ago, used it to heat my workshop they would put out a lot of heat. Fuel for them is expensive now and they get though quite a bit.

Oh do these bring back memories. My grandparents had a version that looked like a pot belly stove, always had a bloody great big kettle sitting on top of it for when folks popped round for a cup of tea.

Manufactured before the cynical 'design obsolescence' of todays transitory appliances. Cheers Old Chap.

Yes, everything today is designed to fail, shortly after the new version is out (3-5 months) so that you can no longer get parts for it.

Nice! What's the function of the little knurled thumbscrew to the lower left of the fuel control valve and height adjustment?
