I had a 2014 silverado... Traded it in for a 2016 f150 with the eccoboost. It flys, I'm a truck guy... I had chevy's and now a Ford and i don't regret it.

I don't understand all the negative attitude about this swap. A swap is a swap is a swap. So many people are putting Small blocks in every vehicle under the sun and nobody says a word. Swap a v6 turbo and they lose their damn minds. I want to swap a 2JZ into my 98 2500 Cheyenne. Will I care who likes it? Nope cause it will be awesome.

Chris Wolinski That’s how the Internet is now. It’s just people complaining about everything. That and some people can’t stand the fact that these V6s have crazy power. As an owner of a 2013 F150 with an EcoBoost, I think this is sweet. It’s different. My brother just built a 30-something Ford sedan rat rod from scratch and he put a Ford 300 inline 6 with a 4-speed in it. It’s something different.

Flip even a 4 cyl eco out of a mustang would had been sweet I guess they don't want the ability to go 400 miles on a single tank of gas instead of 150 plus twice as much power as stock . I had my 69 390 rebuilt nice sound C6 as well only how can you really drive it daily unless I want to spend 200 a week on gas . I would put a eco swap if I could with trans heck yeah

The old trucks had 6 pots in em anyway, the 2JZ is a nice replacement for the stovebolt 6 in GMs. Hater gonna hate but this is the 25yrs later Ford version of GMC Syclone/Typhoon Buick Turbo Regal. Im sure mustang 5.0 people bitched about the sound of Syclones and Regals passing them as they lost when they were rewinding Nirvana/snoop dog tapes

What was the fix for the multiple misfires, My last ecoboost was always missing, spent 3 months at 5 different shops, when I finally picked the truck up the last time and said the hell with it; it chunked #1 and cut the block half in two...literally. You could stick your arm through the motor.

I really hate it when people do this to old vehicles(Make them sit on the ground and put auto transmissions in them) but I will say that is a really nice build. The only thing that really throws me off is the fact that there is no floor in the bed. I guess the ecoboost is ok though better than those pos flathead 6's. Get good mileage with it too. I have a feeling this won't be driven long distances though.

Doing standalone harness isn't that hard with some patience.. it's not anymore difficult than ls harness..just get the ecm pinouts online.. and make sure you/ remove security system.

For some reason content on Ecoboost 4 swaps is plentiful, but info on Ecoboost V6 swaps is uncommon. I think that's a real shame, because Ford turns out F150s with Ecoboost V6s like potato chips. There are tons of them out there as potential donors, and they make a good deal more power out of the box than the fours. It's harder to get good sound out of a V6, but it can be done. This truck sounds great. Other V6 vehicles, not so much. Seems to me it's worth playing with the exhaust a little for the combination of power and fuel economy you can get from a stock or nearly stock engine.

Sorry guys this is a 52 F1. The 51 does not have the separate Ford letters under the hood as this truck shows. It should be on the cast emblem assembly on the front beak of the hood. As far as the Ecoboost install. Nice job but my 51 will only have a cast iron V8 rumbling under its hood. But then I am an old fart!!
