1951 Ford F1: Video #21 -- Putting the flathead back in!

The 239 flathead V-8 that lived for 72 years has finished its rebuild and is ready to go back in! It was decked and dipped -- had to be dipped twice, they said, owing to the buildup of sludge and debris. First time the guys at the machine shop can recall an engine having to go into the drink a double time.
These old Ford small block V-8s are hard to kill, for sure.
Should have it fired back up and on the road again soon! Stay tuned.

Wasnt it hard to mate the engine to the transmission ?

I don't think so, but I didn't do the work. I know from the numbers the transmission is a 1985 Ford 4-speed.

I r&r’d engine (8CM) in my 41 car. Getting that engine back on the transmission was arduous, had two guys trying to help me couldn’t get it. Later I finally got it myself. After reassembling under hood the rebuild started immediately not even one turn and it was running . smooth a GMs quiet.
