If you've been wondering why there hasn't been any F1 videos lately, that's because soon after coming home for the engine rebuild it began to have random stalling issues. After much exploration, we decided to put an electric fuel pump on to supplement the mechanical one. While we were at it we put on a new carburetor, too.
It was also determined that the original wiring harness had to go. That stuff just wasn't made to last 72 years and posed a major fire hazard. The truck now has all new wiring, bumper to bumper.
And a broken door latch was the "one more thing" we had to fix. Ready for some summer and fall cruising!

I always checked the fuel pump rod for wear. I was told that during WWII a lot of them had the rods extended with shims because new parts weren’t available.

We put in a new mechanical fuel pump last fall. I'm not sure if that included a new rod.
