Most of us don’t have a gasket making kit,so start by making the small holes first, then putting a bolt in them to hold the material while you finish tapping out the gasket.

All the new DLTX Floats are still made of Brass. Sweat soldered like they've always been done. The Older DLTX3 Carbs have a Nitrophyl Float available to replace the cork floats

My ‘51 B does the same... so I shut the fuel valve off when I park it. My ‘57 JD 720 does have the auto shutoff; it opens with oil pressure. There is a button on top of it to open the valve to ‘prime’ the bowl.

Looking for info on how to set the load and idle needles on the carb (DLTX 67). I believe you turn in the valve all the way and then turn it out a turn and a half, not certain.

Had a similar fuel shutoff issue on a model A and it was because the new all metal needle wasn't sealing on the seat properly. Put the old rubber tipped one back in (not sure if it was original or not - I assume not) and the problem went away. I leave the fuel on all the time now and it never leaks

pretty nice, you'll get it all straightened out.

My '51 B has a drain valve at the bottom of the carburetor so I can drain the bowl if I know that I am not going to be running my B for a while.
@a1936deere4 жыл бұрын
Don't need any automatic shut off. Shut off fuel bowl, run till engine dies, open petcock on bottom of bowl if concerned that fuel bowl and/or needle & seat don't hold. New float is less than $30, new needle & seat less than $20, gasket set $10. Usuallt that's all they ever need.

I always turn the fuel off on my old tractors, I'm wondering what the fu*k are you thinking? Then I'm wondering, why would you want to make it more complicated with an electric valve that will just cause problems? What is so difficult about turning on the fuel while checking the oil? You do check the oil, don't you?
