When you take a chassis out of it's cabinet what is the first thing you should do? Answer, get a square piece of cardboard cut to the size of the speaker and attach it to the holes available in the speaker enclosure. Two places is good enough. Speaking from experience!

Because it's technically a Canadian radio, and Canada was still more British than American in 1951? That's my guess anyway.

Order the correct CAPs! Your values are to low, and will have some amount of noise!

Maybe, but I doubt there would be much real world difference between 44 uF and 50 uF (or even between 22 and 30 uF) given the tolerances at the time. Thanks for commenting.
