I have the same unit and it took me a few weeks to figure out all that was wrong. I replaced almost every resistor and all the caps. Someone had it before me and had replaced caps, tying them to the wrong location. I basically went thru the circuit one by one and located the components where they actually belong. Once all was restored I did have to realign the radio which took me longer on the FM than expected. Now I have a fully restored radio I enjoy listening to everyday in my workshop. Thanks for the video!

Greetings from Australia! I just found your channel & subscribed. Nice job getting this old set back together. It's always a challenge sorting through someone else's dodgy repairs. Even worse when they had dementia. That diode in backwards was a classic! Cheers

What a beautiful little radio, glad you were able to save them man. This type gets no respect but it's nice for what it is.

Nice work, It sounds like it desperately needs an alignment though. Good video, good content 👍

on this 1937 G.E. model E50 radio I am working on I replaced two electrolytic caps and it worked then I proceeded to replace some old parts. Turned it on it didn't work just happened to look down and a resistor in the same spot I replaced a cap had popped loose when I was soldering. So one resistor can make a lot of difference.
