1952 Chevy Styleline Deluxe: Part 18 - Glass Removal

We pull the glass out of the Chevy today, and no longer qualify for a #sirmixalot video. A simpler project than I anticipated, the glass came out pretty easy, even with the chrome trim embedded in the seal.

Right on! I don't know if these were done at the factory or not, at least, wherever they were done, it was by a person I think.

To remove the front belt line trim , there is a screw on each end at the door , 4 trim clips with the nuts removed from underneath the dash , also the wiper transmissions must be loosened via a single bolt also under the dash

Not sure! I know my sample rattle cans were only a few bucks, but I'll be sure to comment on the base / clear pricing when I get it. I'm getting a bit antsy, so I may pick up a pint to spray out the inner fenders, hood etc. Good way to confirm it's the right color before spending $$ on a gallon.

Is the deluxe and styleline the same model or are they different models completely?

I believe there is a styleline, and then a deluxe? I'm not too sure, but I have seen a number of models with varying accessories from the sun shield on mine, the radio and style of driver side mirror. I've had an impossible time finding the searchlight style I have.

How to change the oil

Hey Ralph, very simple on this model. Oil plug in the bottom, and fill from the valve cover oil cap. This model does not have an oil filter, so it should be 5 quarts, but you can use the dipstick to confirm. You don't want to overfill it due to the lubrication system inside.

now I remembered why I stopped watching your videos. lol. that tool you're using to cut the gasket is a windshield tool for cutting the urethane seal when the glass is glued in. just a regular utility knife works a lot better. also the actual trim, if you're careful and patient will just pull out of the gasket.

A knife may have worked. I had this on-hand from another project. Ya learn something new every day.
