1952 Day In The Life Of A 1950's Small Town

We had the neighborhood as our family - for good or for bad, they were the neighborhood watch with a line directly to our parents or a phone line if you were a really small town and shared a party line. We never knocked on a door but stood in the yard yelling the kid’s name. No bullies by us, because we were welcomed into any home if we were afraid. And if there was a bomb we knew enough to hide under our desks to be safe. A time of innocence. I’m 75 and I feel so sad for my grandchildren 😢❤

You have to know Alexandria and its iconic landmarks for this to become nostalgic. Never lived there but after having visited, can envision its earlier vibes.

It was a great time!! Homes were well cared for, noting abandoned, no black flash gang looting, mostly non violent crimes, no nightly killings, no car jacking , able to walk the streets without fear. Far , far worse today. JMO

I'm 80 now and I miss dragging main , racing light to light, ford vs Chevy Becky fussing about me racing, Becky is still fussing, but other is just a memory.

I'm 73, and it makes me feel so sad to watch these kinds of videos because I miss those times so much. We did not know how good we had it back then, even the food. Food now days is so messed up - Back then, you could smell the aroma just walking up the street past the restaurants. And the house parties we had back then, we had so much fun without anyone being hurt, and able to walk the streets at night without a worry! We even got to sleep outside all night on the porch and in the hammock.
