I wanna '54 Lincoln and a huge single story bungalow home to show it off. Wow, those were the days. I wonder what that owner did for a living.

Lincoln owners, back in that day, were either heads of corporations or high-powered attorneys.

I love the 50s Lincolns. Always smoother than the rest of the Ford lineup and many others. Innovative style.

She also appears to be wearing the same dress she wore in the cocktail party scene in 1954’s White Christmas.

My dad couldn’t afford a 1954 Lincoln, he was driving a used 1937 Pontiac then.

My great-granddaddy always drove Lincolns. He worked hard and could afford it.
@8176morgan4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps he should have set his sights a little bit lower and bought a 1954 Ford, they were pretty stylish and dependable cars.

The introduction of the 1952 Lincoln Capri included a two way electrical seat, power windows, power radio antenna (vacuum powered from the engine). The convertible in 1952 had totally mechanical motor driven mechanism while the 1953 and after had a hydraulic mechanism.

Yeah, the word was used quite often however remember the audience it was playing to: the adults who were viewing this (on their new television!), had grown up in an economic depression that lasted from October of 1929 until we entered World War 2 in 1941, just over 10 years of making things last and then a war: 4 years of everything you can imagine is rationed, no driving on Sundays, no cars were built and daily radio and newspaper reports of a savage war. When it was over they couldn’t wait for something new “and modern”. It had taken a year for rationing to end(1946), and 3 more years for the economy to stabilize after being a war economy. Yeah, “modern” was the order of the day.
