Not even 100 miles on a high end custom build. No expense spared: the motor/trans cost $18,451, fuel tank $2,600, headers over $2,500. This one has it all from a custom chassis, Supercharged GM crate LSA motor with overdrive trans, Vintage Air and much more. It is stunning to look at. It's scary fast!
What is a Cameo? It is a truck that was decked out like a top of the line car. They featured unique fiberglass slab sides on the bed, very stylish back section, Cadillac inspired headlight eyebrows and Ferrari inspired grill. This was at a time where trucks were just considered work vehicles. It got you through the work week and looked good on date night!
EXTERIOR: Absolutely pristine fit and finish. The body is laser straight, no rust or damage. The black paint is polished like a mirror. Even the fiberglass bed sides are straight. Every piece of chrome and trim looks new. All the weather-strips and seals were replaced. New glass with a light tint. It has an awesome stance and it's sitting on 20 inch chrome Rocket wheels with performance tires.
INTERIOR: The red really pops against the black. Custom made to order TMI interior: carpet, seats, door panels and headliner. The metal trim is painted slick. HDX Dakota Digital gauges with many add ons. Ididit chrome tilt column with a 55 Chevy wheel. All new knobs. Vintage looking electric lever heater controls. Custom console with a Lokar bump shifter, you can move it over to speed shift. Complete Autowire harness throughout. Retro stereo system. Power window conversion.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Crate GM Connect and Cruise LSA motor. It comes complete including the fuel injection, super charger and computer system. It's a 6.2 liter making 556 HP and 551 lbs of torque! This one has been tweaked to make over 625 hp. Complete specs are available on Chevrolet.com. It also has MSD coil packs, Holley deep oil pan and custom made polished stainless headers. The front of the motor has Concept One anodized pulley system, serpentine belt, remote power steering reservoir. ZL1 inner cooler with dual fans. Vintage Air heat and a/c system. Premium Aeroquip lines and fittings. Big polished radiator with dual electric fans keeps the motor cool. Polished billet hood hinges. Custom made polished aluminum core support. The engine bay is smooth metal painted like glass.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very deluxe tailgate for 1955. It has chrome levers to open the gate and it has a retractable stainless cable system. All new chrome latches and stainless hardware. New finished oak planks with stainless strips. Inside the bed is pristine. There is a flush mount fuel door in the floor.
UNDERSIDE: Complete TCI custom chassis. Upfront is a independent suspension with tubular control arms, coil over adjustable gas shocks and sway bar. The frame was Zinc primed and painted Vulcan black. It has Wilwood disc brakes all around with drilled and slotted rotors. Custom made polished stainless fuel tank. GM high torque starter. Part of the Connect and Cruise GM engine package, it has a 4L80E electronic overdrive automatic calibrated for this application. It has a Holley deep oil pan. Polished aluminum driveshaft and chrome u-joints. In back is a new 9 inch rear with 3.73 gears.
If you appreciate high quality you will love this truck. Not only is it mint but it's awesome too. A Cameo with an LSA motor, hot colors, cool stance and a great sound. Less than 100 miles since built!
