I believe this is the coolest drag car I've seen in years...maybe decades. It captures the essence of what drag racing was from back when I was a little kid. Normally I'm not thrilled in seeing yet another sbc engine in a hot rod, but this is a huge exception. A 265 base engine is beyond cool, especially in a car with this history. You have FANTASTIC taste in old cars, HRH!

Grabbing second gear at the 60 foot light(!!) This is great, talk about doing the most with the least! I really appreciate these video articles in an age where print media is basically gone. It’s a good substitute that I really enjoy. Thanks for putting this together and sharing.

Thank you sir. I'm planning to do a print article on this car for the American Tri-Five magazine, but yes, videos are a great way to fill the void left behind by all of the magazines that were shut down.

Great story, yes! There were several racers out of Zanesville back in the '70's, one of them raced a silver TH400 COPO Camaro in Super Stock that he had purchased new. His name escapes me now, but Louis Antorietto bought it back around 1990, and restored it, removing its wheel tubs and relocating the leaf springs back to their original location. I have to wonder today, if it would be just as valuable in its "as raced" condition. This Buckeye native loves to see Uhio cars (that's how ya sayit), hope to see some more.

what a screaming little beast. if it had 4wd it could pull vehicles out of ditches. ill bet it will spin up onwards to 8000 without a problem. never saw a 265 reworked alittle. lean mean rock and roll machine!!

It has some good tricks inside. These Stock eliminator guys go to great lengths to go fast.
@kennethcohagen35396 сағат бұрын
I hope he upgraded the wheel bearing on that 12 bolt rear. Chevy used wheel bearings that used the axle as the inner race for thier bearings. They sucked after they got some t8me on them. Strange makes a different axle that you can use a regular bearing on. Everything else about the car’s build was spot on!
@HotRodHoarder4 сағат бұрын
I’m sure he has it sorted out. Ol Larry has been around the block a time or three.

How come your so reluctant to show ETs and MPH, people that race care about these things.
@HotRodHoarder5 сағат бұрын
I am not reluctant to show it but I was using someone else’s videos and they didn’t record all the way through on some passes. I didn’t take any action videos of the car because my job at the Tri Five Nationals is to take still photographs for the organization that puts the event on. So I got in touch with Larry’s buddy, Dave and he provided video. He is mostly videoing the car launching to see if it needs any suspension or tire adjustments so most of the videos do not go all the way through the 1/4 mile.
