Notice how there is room to work on the engine. You can't do ay work on a new car without disassembling all kinds of junk first

"look under the hood for a short stroke engine". as if the block is transparent.it was allways my oppinion a short stroke is the last thing you want in a truck engine.heavy trucks need a long stroke to make good low & midrange rpm torque.exactly why the 260 & 289 were not used in work trucks.no low end torque.

The OHV motors probably had more torque than the old long stroke flatheads.
