I have a 56 buick century 4 dr with 37k actual miles and the brake pedal is harder than I think it should be. This was very helpful in seeing how the master comes out. Thank you.!

I remember doing that job. Thankfully the cylinder was in great condition, just all gummed up inside with old brake fluid. Cleaned it out and it works great. Unfortunately it's a one-year only part that costs a ton to replace

Thanks for watchin'. I appreciate it. This one was pretty bad and needed to be fully rebuilt. It works great now.

The Power Brakes on the 1956 could be "touchy", requiring light pressure on the pedal. At the time, most cars did not have power brakes, so getting out of one without and into one with power brakes could be interesting.

I remember as a young kid, several of us were riding in a borrowed car with one of the neighbor ladies. It was the first car she drove that had power brakes. She kept slamming them on and we could end up on the floor of the car. It's funny what you remember from years gone by. Thanks for watchin'.

I've never removed the brake booster assembly from one of these. I learned something here. There's guys aroudn that rebuild them: Bob's Automobilia or CARS. If you get a 56 with manual brakes the MC job's a lot easier.

I had a hard time getting the brake line off of it. I have big hands though.

Wow... It literally looks just like a ten year old car... It's hard to imagine that it was ever in Ohio! Just a really complete detaining, above and below, and a tiny bit of touchup will make that thing magnificent. It's even worthy of a set of those new "pie crust" wide white walls that they're selling now... Looks like a bias ply, but it's actually a radial disguised as a bias ply.

Just take the back seat out and you can access the trunk and use a flat screwdriver and there's a slot in the truck lock, stick the screwdriver in the slot and turn the screwdriver and the trunk opens
