Beautiful 1956 Cadillac.I have a 1960, but always admired & wanted a 1956. Thanks for turning the camera upside down, so we could ser the A/C outlets in the ceiling/dome. Magnificent looking car.

Factory AC was very rare in 1956, even in luxury cars.

wonderful car - I had a 60 Fleetwood w/ vinyl top - first thing I did was replace all the springs - made a huge difference in handling.

Perfectly beautiful! The antenna and radio both worked in my '56 when I first got it in 2002, but about a year later they just simply stopped--I've never delved into it, keep hoping maybe they'll start up again on their own!

This is a real find. Someday, if the new owner keeps it all original, it may end up in a museum.

At about 2:16 you see the reostat that controlled the A/C fan. My grandmother had one of these and I used to aggravate her by playing with the switch. I think it was intended that the old lady ride in back. Not the kid. Takes me back to trips cross country in that monster. It sure ate the gas. Hers was black with grey inside. The a/c was necessary for the Texas heat. I remember the radios. My mom's Super 88 and dad's Coupe de Ville also had those Wonderbars. Magic.

I have a 55 60 special. They are huge! Weigh almost 5,000 lbs. I'm removing the autronic eye because they produce 800 volts in the amp.

My dad had this car when I was very young. I felt like I had my own bedroom in the back seat of was so huge. He sold it to a guy who drove it into a river. Never saw it again.

They had tubes in the radios back then and that is why they took time to come on. My guess is that you need to replace a tube somewhere. Not a price problem. A labor problem.

That's right! It worked for awhile when I first got it, then quit. But the radio antenna quit working at the same time which makes me think it's something other than a tube. You raised and lowered the antenna by pushing or pulling the station tuner knob! Well that could be caused by a tube, then!

Anybody that can hear and see can tell you that A) right at 10 mph and not 20 as the needle is on the FIRST mark and 2) the sound of a leaking exhaust manifold is what you hear during acceleration.

nice cah. . see how throatee the engine sounds? Those old GM cahs were loud but that's why they had good power. . half the fun is waiting for the radio to warm up. . Does the air conditioning blow cold air in this car? I remember REVERSE being all the way down in the shifter. . What a tank, Detroit at it's finest. Now I want to buy another.

Gorgeous color on a gorgeous car. Is it safe to assume that the Fleetwoods were all pillared sedans while the Sedans de Ville were all pillarless hardtops? I can't recall seeing a hardtop Fleetwood until the 1957 model year.

The car was pampered on a dirt road,( Under 20 mph). Once the car went on pavement; >30 MPH an engine knock was easy to hear.I'd consider this car if the price point was,< $18,500 USD

44,000 miles on a 56 year old car? I don't think so. So many people don't realize that old car odometers clicked back over to zero at 100,000 miles. I see all kinds of old cars for sale on ebay, autotrader classics, and in the newspaper that are 40-50 years old and claim mileage of 30,000-50,000 miles. The odometer might show a low mileage, but the question is how many times has it clicked over and reset.
