1956 Ford , and stuff

The front crossmember was a bad spot on mid-50's Fords. Early ones didn't have a drain hole at the low point and they would rust out from the inside. I fixed up a 55 Ford wagon for my sister when she was in high school (so was I). She called home one day and said the old Ford would back up but not go forward. The front crossmember had given way and the front of one lower control arm was on the ground. She was on an old brick street and the arm would catch in the brick joints when she tried to go forward. A trip to the junk yard found a good crossmember and the old Ford was back on the road. Glad to see a video, I always enjoy your videos.

Most 1956 Fords were rusted away by 1959, at least in the Midwest of the US. I remember sitting in the back of my father-in-law's '56 and the rubber mats falling through the holes in the floor and our feet getting wet from the spray through the holes. I hated that car.

There's a 55 Ford 300 4dr running around here that's the green version of that pink, I call it Kleenex box green! I am not so much into the make any more, I just like seeing this old iron running around
