When people say our prices are high It always Reminds me of the story about the woman who approached Picasso in a restaurant, asked him to scribble something on a napkin, and said she would be happy to pay whatever he felt it was worth. Picasso complied and then said, “That will be $10,000.” But you did that in thirty seconds,” the astonished woman replied. “No,” Picasso said. “It has taken me forty years to do that.” My thoughts on what Pete does at Iron City Garage. -Shane (Video editor)

The way Bill gets this old workhorse moving under its own power is a beautiful thing to watch. In this age of mass-produced, computer-controlled, luxury-rotted, plastic throw away "mommymobile" pickups that never carry anything heavier than the week's groceries, it is a true privilege to watch such a virtuoso of his craft transform a 66 year-old truck from scrap to running veteran of nearly seven decades work. I hope the next owner preserves the awesome patina on this old beast.

Some trucks have strong nostalgic appearance and appeal if you had passion of truck and loco steam engines during childhood days and today if you see such trucks working rather meticulously cared back to life ...that reverberates nostalgic moments of childhood and just amazes that how time passed and these engines emit same aroma of petrol ...and the sound. Amazing time capsules which makes you refreshed with zest of childhood days.

If this is truly a 56 I should of had the small little strip on the hood I always was told that by my uncle my first truck was a 56 GMC with the granny 4 speed is looked just like this old truck but it had them small little strip s running down the hood and a 4 speed in floor had big 6 clyder motor was a serious pickup truck I wish thy still was making the basic truck s now
@charlesyoung7436
@charlesyoung7436 2 жыл бұрын
The hood could have been replaced, or it might have come from the factory to use up other model year parts. Rick from Classic Truck Rescue in Oregon has a 1958 GMC fleet option pickup with odd details like that. It has the same type of expanded metal grill, two headlights in fenders meant for quads, a delete plate to cover up the interior light space, and a Chevrolet "pizza slice" speedometer cluster that is badged "GMC." He believes that leftover parts went into these trucks which then got worked to death and scrapped early, leaving very few survivors. The asking price of this one as a complete runner with new brakes would support that conclusion.

YOU WOULD THINK AFTER DOING THE SAME SET UPS ON THESE OLD BASIC CARS AND TRUCKS AS THAT'S A CONMAN PART OF YOUR EVERY DAY WORK YOU WOULD HAVE A DESIGNATED GAS CAN THE RIGHT SIZE ( SAY A HALF A GALLON OR ONE GAL. ) AND ITS A TIN GAS CAN / WITH A ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP SET UP WITH A SMALL 12 VOLT BATTERY PACK SAY A M/C BATTERY AND EXTRA LONG HOSES WITH A GAS FILTER FOR THE GAS LINES / ALL FIXED ON A BOARD SET UP / PROPER AND MADE ADJUSTABLE TO USE ON ANY MOTOR / YOU CAN SET THE RIG ON A FENDER OR EVEN ON THE FLOOR ALL SET TO GO / SO , NO LOOKING FOR A PLASTIC SODA BOTTLE TO CUT OPEN AND SPILL ALL OVER TRYING TO MAKE IT STAND UP RIGHT AND RUN OUT OF GAS JUST AS IT ALMOST STARTS / HOOKING UP A GAS FILTER AND FUEL PUMP AFTER LOOKING FOR THEM IT WOULD SAVE YOU A LOT OF B/S

The engines in the GMC are not the same as the chevy sixes. They are about 3 inches longer and are 228 -248- 270- or 302, The V8 engines where Pontiac engines. We sold a 55 GMC with the 287 Pontiac V8. We still have a 56 317 GMC/Pontiac V8 engine.

Most video lengths really depend on what gets done to the truck. I’m walking a very thin line with what people want to see. I try my hardest right now to keep them under 45 mins. I’m still working on the best way to give a consistent final project. Even though I think they have been coming out pretty well and feeling complete it still needs a little more tweaking. Thank you for the feed back though always appreciated!

I'd rather watch a 50 minute video of something going from nothing to running and driving to 20 minutes of watching someone clean a vehicle that is exactly the same as it was when they got it except now it's clean. Unless you got some cleaning secrets, count me out. Great job

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)

Clickbait tittle says “Barn find” then shows him pulling the truck from a yard full of old trucks. The Ice scrapers are a giveaway this truck was deopped off for repairs and probably never picked up. Slowly parts were robbed off it for use in other trucks around the shop. Definitely not a legit barn find.
@Ironcitygarage

Well the truck did originally come out of an old barn seeming that we get most of our trucks from out west run out there and back for ever truck in this economy isn’t the move currently. Sorry if you felt like you weird lied too🙏🙏
