She's an old girl but damn I'm in love. I love old buses and trucks from days before I was born. They really are a true example of how great things were when things were built almost-completely by human hands. Wish you had videos of the restoration process and finishing results.

In the 1970's, I rode one of these buses from Twin Falls, Idaho up to Sun Valley. It was in the summer. They carried freight in the upstairs part of the bus, which was blocked off from passengers by a door. There were only a few passengers, anyway. Certainly a memorable trip on a great old rig.

I thought I would search for something random. I searched for old greyhound buses. I live in Europe and know nothing about your old buses in the USA. I watched three other videos of yours and this one. Wow they are really fascinating, really interesting, thanks for making them. How many passengers would it have taken when it was taking paying passengers?

***** Oh ok thanks. I saw your clutch change video, I don't know much about the maintenance of commercial vehicles like buses and trucks but I noticed the clutch had multiple plates like my Massey Ferguson 135 agricultural tractor. Is that normal for commercials like your bus?

An old Gray Hound bus would be one of the rarest I actually thought this was an old city bus from the outside then when you showed us the inside I was it's an old tour bus probably a band used to ride in that bus
@larrypierce27778 жыл бұрын
I'm going to estimate that this bus took around maybe 30 passengers at the most. I used to ride on these buses in the late fifties to California, then back to Texas with my mother. I remember standing on the very back seat by the bathroom and I couldn't hold my pee as a four year old and the pee fell to the floor and rolled all the down the center Isle. Loved the sound of the buses. They kind of put you to sleep. The buses used to stop in just about every city on it's route. I mean every city, town and small country town. It was fun though. The driver would stop for a lunch or supper break. Later in years the type people the rode the bus changed. People became more thuggy and poor looking. Most people had transferred to air travel. That left the drinkers and the people that would beat you up if you didn't keep your distance.

My father was a Greyhound driver during my early teens. During the summers, I would live and travel with him for a week or two at a time. I have fond memories of my dad horsing this bus around the twisty corners and hills between Portland, Newport, and Coos Bay OR. The drivers called it "The Buffalo", and was not well liked due to lack of power, and a gearbox that was prone to slipping out of gear on long downhill stretches. Dad said the brakes were not the greatest, either. Merry Chrismas 'stone.

These are a particularly desirable platform for making an RV. usually I seen old Trailways and Greyhound buses converted. Was this one a purpose built RV from the factory or a conversion? It is kind of a point of curiosity what this bus did when it first went into service. So now considering how much time has passed how far has this bus come along?
