Without a doubt the 1956 Lincoln Premiere ranks as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Ever since I was a little kid, this car was always one of my favorites. Lincoln out did it's self in '56 the simple design with it's gorgeous front end and beautiful rear end can not be beat those taillights are an iconic Lincoln Look. The interior is simple yet elegant and comfortable with many features that were ahead of their time. I love everything about the 1956 Lincoln Premiere. Just a gorgeous car, then and now. I have a large collection of 1:18 diecast model cars, which includes a "56 Lincoln Premiere 2 door hardtop in the same Taos Terquose, with a white roof and white interior. I love the 1956 Lincoln Premiere.

Hello Lou! I decided to check out this Lincoln after viewing the pink '56 Hardtop. The link you provided brought me here. This Lincoln is even more lovely. There were many amazing body colors for 1950s automobiles, unlike today, when we're limited mostly to boring grays and silver cars. The owner said there are only about 100 of those Lincoln convertibles like his. A big reason for that is because Lincoln produced only 2,447 Premier convertibles in 1956. They carried a base price of $4,747 - a huge pile of money back then. Taos Turquoise? Wonderful, lovely color for that car. Nobody did it better than Lincoln in 1956! Incredible, timeless styling! Thanks again, Lou! Nobody can do it better than you when it comes to locating vintage automobiles. I'll keep on watching. .

What a beautiful Lincoln! It has to be rare because I've never heard of the Premiere. I love that Taos Turquoise color! It's so period correct! I also love that knight hood trunk key lock. I also noticed the brake pedal had two bars that looked unique. The engine runs super quiet, and it sounded very healthy and smooth. I got a kick out of the gentleman's matching outfit that went perfectly with that paint job! Definitely a beauty that's for sure! It seems like you find some awesome cars at Pebble Beach.

My 57 was a sedan, with the same color!...the car was sumptuous inside...but the handling was predictably mushy, and even with 300bhp, the car was kinda slow, around 11 seconds 0-60...Lincoln eventually used a 430ci, 350hp engine throughout most of the 1960s.

Czechmate, I agree with your first sentence here. Even if we had comparable designers today, there wouldn't be anything for them TO design other than SUV's, crossovers, trucks and 4-door sedans. The market is for the previous and that's it. It's sad, but so is the state of everything today. This car came from the world of Post-World War II optimism and brilliance. The vehicles of today represent these deader-than-dead times. Sorry.

Alex, this Lincoln Premiere was the "Lincoln Lincoln" and the Mark II the very limited ultra expensive car for very few people, such as Elizabeth Taylor. To put it another way this Premiere was the 'Town Car' Lincoln of 1956 so to speak (if it had come as a 2 door convertible) or the 'bread and butter' model representing most sales with coupes, sedans etc.

My wife's grandfather was a Cadillac guy. He only owned El Dorados. That made my wife fan of Cadillac. She always bragged on them and would like to have one someday. I am a Ford and Mercury guy? Except for one Plymouth, all of my cars have been Fords or Mercurys. I used to tease my wife that if I ever stepped up to a more luxury car, it would be a Lincoln. Seeing this video, I see the Lincoln I would want. It is truly a beautiful automobile. Certainly a much better car than the 56 El Dorado my grandfather in-law had.

This is a much more favorable presentation of this car than the earlier version, The 1956 Lincoln sales brochure notes no other car seems quite as natural as a convertible as a Lincoln. In the case of this car that is certainly true. I had the pleasure of seeing my first 1956 Lincoln in my neighbors garage since he happen to be the local Lincoln Mercury dealer. The fog lights are a very attractive and useful option on this car. Assuming the car was not purchased for police work, the twin spotlights are tasteless inappropriate clutter on a very beautiful car,

1956 - The most beautiful Lincoln of the 1950s! Designed by John Tjaarda, who also designed the 1955 Lincoln Futura, which it resembles.

And we all know what that 1955 Lincoln Futura was later turned into. Need I say more?

I had two uncles that drove ‘57’s. I always thought that the ‘56 was a sharp looking car and the ‘57 a dog with the ugly fins tacked on.

Boo on you!...those fins were very smoothly applied, and I loved them!...I admit though, that most folks liked the 56 better.

Lou was that rather large handle on the door for the wing window? Some questions were not asked. How long has he had the car? Was the car in this condition when he bought it? If not how long did the restoration take? The gold plated lift up helmet for the trunk key. How rare are these and has he had it replated or repaired? It would be good to ask, on a high end luxury car like this, what the standard features are and what options are on the featured car. I would have liked to see the cool back up lights featured that are behind the chrome horizontal bars.

Hi Bill, Jeff’s had this car since 2016 (it's in the text description of this video). The rest of your questions were excellent, however seems I did not ask any of them. Maybe a "Take 2" video in the future....HOWEVER...maybe a few were asked in this video. Enjoy! Lou kzbin.info/www/bejne/kImak5qketJpos0

I love the car very much Lou. There's a part of me that feels this car (somehow) was a more refined and beautifully styled version of the Packard, somehow. To me it has a Packard flavor, not unlike the Lincolns that preceded this one. The '57 is beautiful too, influenced by the '55 Futura. I don't like the stacked headlights though on the '57. No. It's kind of like how the (Chevelle) stacked headlights on the '76-7 Monte Carlo took away the beautiful Rolls Royce look of the '74 & 5 Monte's from the front end.

Hi, Lou, and hello, deer! LOL! Taos Turquoise! Man, don't you just love those exotic color names we had back in those days?! And Jeff even came prepared with a matching shirt! The 1956 Lincoln had been one of the few cars that of that year that was all-new. BTW, as of this year Lincoln has now been part of the Ford family for 100 years. (It was named after Abraham Lincoln and was established as a private company in 1917 by Henry Leland, who had also founded Cadillac.) Thanks to both of you for taking us along in this beautiful knight in shining armor, and have a very Merry Christmas! Besides the design award, this Lincoln had the admiration of Ed Sullivan and his co-host Julia Meade. Witness that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXvRk3yid6aHgq8

That engine actually is a 368ci version....I owned a 57 Premiere, and it was the same engine, same ci, but tweaked up to an even 300hp for 1957. The 56 models were considered to be better looking than the 57s...but I disagree...whatever, they were incredible luxury cars. ...the interiors were the most plush I have ever seen!
