Had an early 60s Matchless 250 single years ago and my uncle had an AJS 250 single and apart from the badges they seemed to be nigh on identical….always wondered about that.

From 1931 AJS and Matchless were manufactured in the same factory . Post war really the only difference was the tank badges.
