1956 Tonka Toy Truck Restoration

In this video I will be working on a 1956 Tonka Farms Stake Truck. Even though the truck didn't have to much rust, it was still in need of some love. The tires needed to be changed and the paint job was not pretty. Its was also missing the metal stakes, so instead of buying new once I took the once I have made not long ago for my other project. In this video I put a little more sandblasting clips because I know some of you really enjoy it. The color choices that I had was to either paint it into as close to original as possible, or paint it in beautiful black cherry metallic color. And the black cherry is what I had to go with. I like original colors, but I also think that experimenting with other custom colors can bring other characteristic of the piece that you wont see in original base color. Every color shows different curves and edges of the truck differently. This Tonka Truck model is a Ford, and the toy was made over 60 years ago. Its amazing how well toys used to be made, they really don't make them like this any more! It has now been a full year since I started this channel, and I want to thank you all for the support and for watching my restoration videos. Enjoy the video!

The colour looks so much better than the original -- I am not a fan of powder blue. I love it when restorers fabricate missing parts. The custom woodwork is far better than the plastic original. Kudos on overall improving the truck!
