love it! what color is this? Is it an original Tonka orange powder coat? I’d love to know more about the research that goes into bringing these back to life- in this case better than new! Nice work.

Doing one of these myself, I was planning on just seasoning the whole thing but the paint looks better than I expected

Oh this is amazing. We have exactly the same one. We are using it as humidifier on our wood stove and it started to get rusty. Could you tell me what tools you used to clean it up please?
@emericanpie15 күн бұрын
Do live in the jungle of Peru? What's up with all that racket? Stove is circa 1975. Aside from all that distraction, best seasoning I've seen on KZbin.

Why did you fill that kettle with mud? Was it to increase views? That would make sense i suppose.
@CoolRestorations26 күн бұрын
It’s not mud it rust build up combined with vinegar that I put inside it that sat for long time.

porcelain enamel or lacquer coating??? I think the teapot that I have is with a lacquer coating I heated it up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour and it's going nowhere.

This paint was more for showcase look. Don’t think it’s practical for actual use. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Wow! Makes me want to do this to my grandmas old cast iron. Its super old, she was born in 1923 and she said it was her moms before her. So its got to be from the very early 1900s. Its so old what if it has lead? Do i have to toss it 😢? Where do you get those testers?

This is all wrong! You needed to put at least twice as much cheese on! You need to go to 3:25 and do it all over from then!

I’ve seen a couple of videos where lye crystals are used to get rid of dirt, old seasoning and rust. My question is: is it safe to use lye on something we will cook food on? Does the iron absorbs the lye somehow and contaminate the food? Thanks in advance for your comments!
