Nice example of an original '57 . Interior looks different from the original factory seat covers. Perhaps a cloth look from the 300 series. Can any one check this out?

Was the Optimal Eng.,Had the Thunderbird Valve Covers& Every 312 I Saw,Had Alum.Intake.Have An Old School Ford Mech.Look @ It,To Be Sure.& Believe Main Reason 57 Ford's Outsold the 57 Chevys Was Eng.Size,Back then,All Young Guys Were Looking for H.p.,Not So Much Looks.Biggest Chevy Eng.Avail. in 57 Was the 283& STD.V-8 Eng.for Chevy in 57,Was the 265,283:,Was Optimal Eng.Nice Example W/ Rare Color Combo

A 283 with Power Pack option would leave a 312 in the dust! 265 engines were not the standard V8 but were available with a 2bbl in early models.all had 3 speed manual transmissions.Very few were sold. Ford beat Chevy that year because they sold so many Station Wagons. Chevy just didn’t sell many wagons compared to Ford.

I recall the quality control on these new was terrible. Restoring one has to be a huge challenge because factory fit wouldn’t win any trophy.

Interior isn’t original Air Conditioning is aftermarket. Not from the factory. I would yank those fender skirts for a cleaner more original look.

It does have factory air up under windshield. That's not a defroster. However, why two units ?
