I like the mercury carbs that have the fuel pump mounted to the carburetor. great video

Good job on the fuel pump. I replaced all my old hoses on my merc last year but put stainless hose clamps on. Only ones I use tie straps on now are for air and water. Also I found the gas tank ball hoses will last longer removing them in the fall, draining them and put in my shed. I'm going to shoot some fogging spray in them too this fall to see how that works

Two years ago i changed fuel lines to my 6hp OMC and forgot to put any hose clamps at all (this video reminded me to install hose clamps). I used pneumatic line, because i had to do a quick temporary fix. ....everyone knows how permanent those temporary fixes can sometimes be 😁

I’m so glad that you didn’t just bash the pressure tanks ! I like them and never had a problem with one but like you stated the double line is more money , about $5 a foot is what I pay for it ! Sometimes I just double up on automotive fuel line and zip tie it together ! Also I found a fuel pump from a 1960’s evinrude is clocked perfect !

I would used 2x fuel lines too, no shame in my game!

Maybe put those two lines inside of heat-shrink tubing instead of zip-ties..

Hi Brandon. Why not run the gas supply line behind the Motörhead instead of going around the front to the fuel connector? Love your videos - I have learned a lot.

If you push with a screw driver on "Zip" tie lock while pulling with plyers you can effectivly get them tighter so no chance they will leak.......

OMC part number is 305751. You can find it on marineengine.com
@georgekeats14783 жыл бұрын
If you can’t find the bypass cover (and they can be hard to find and expensive) then the other way to accomplish this is to use a fuel pump that has a third barb on it to take the pulse from the motor. T-Mike ( a KZbinr) has a good video on this with the Koehler part number for the fuel pump included in the video. It is an inexpensive and decent way to do this without having to source the special plate to screw to the side of the power head.
