The donation to the vets is important to me. The 1940s in Britain taught us that building a country is as important as defeating an enemy. Old ice cream/food vans can be quite cheap. Theres a 1990 ford transit (diesel and manual) going for £995 near me and the only reason it's going cheap is because it's got food van innards and a really ugly paint job.

would cheap chinese diesel 5kW cab heaters be useful? often called webasto heaters. they use about 10L a day running flat out and can heat a 50 sq m flat. They only need a 12v car battery to run the pump and blower fan. portable, powerful, very effective. i use one in my workshop (running on kerosene/diesel/old filtered engine oil blends).
