Passed my test at 16 motorcycle license, same day bought a reliant, me and my mates went everywhere in the dry and warm, no waiting for buses. Girls loved it……

I had one NDO812, always breaking down , had to kickstart every day, the starter that didn't work was called a Siba Dynastart, start it with the key the other way round and it had 4 reverse gears, imagine that 50mph in reverse!

Me and my mate drove one in to a pond in the early 70s! Tractor pulled it out! Great little car with a motorbike engine. Kickstart in the bonnet!

I took my test in my Messerschmitt KR200 at age 16 in High Wycombe which, if you know it, is very hilly. The examiner wasn't at all keen on getting in but we did the test and he passed me first time. I think he was just keen to get out. I then had to take exactly the same test one year later to drive a four-wheeler. Mad. Apparently, you have to be 21 to drive a three-wheeler these days. I'm on my second 'schmitt now at age 71!

Wow memories, had a Bond myself but kick start so had to climb in and start it, then on to an Isetta bubble car, wish i had them now. I paid £5 for the Bond and £10 for the bubble car.

Kick start it… I had one in the terrible winter of 1963… the battery stood no chance…..

Pretty sure there was only one neutral and it was between first and second gear and there was a little green light that came on the dashboard when you had selected it.

That is the usual way motorbike gears work, only there are more gears in them now than when this was made.

Mate had one of these.Pale blue hard top version,but,electric start?? You’re having a larf,mate! We had to pop the bonnet,and use a kickstart on his model,so must have been an early model,or maybe electric start was an extra? Easy to park,though. If the space was a bit tight,we’d pick it up and carry it in( one at each corner.) Happy days.😂👍

I think they all had the kick start (why would they take it off) but the later ones had Dynastart as well.

You could drive this on L plates at 17.
