1960 Gibson Les Paul 01013 Phil X

This ex-celebrity owned forty-nine year old Les Paul Standard weighs 9.30 lbs. and has a fat nut width of 1 11/16 inches and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. Solid mahogany body with a 'nicely-flamed solid carved maple top. One-piece mahogany neck with a typically thin early '60 profile. Brazilian rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. Inlaid pearl trapezoid position markers. Two PAF humbucker pickups with outputs of 7.60k and 9.14k. Original Gibson four-latch brown hardshell case with pink plush lining (8.50). The top has uniformly faded-out to a lovely lemon color and is strikingly unique with the grain being a combination of quarter and flat sawn and a distinctive 'eye' on the left-side, yet still having that characteristic fine wavy interlocking figuring across the face. LOVE this combo. i don't know if it's my playing getting better or i'm just digging deeper into my arsenal of licks. haha another factor involved: the guitars i'm handed that play amazing and feel great are guitars that are easy to become one with. sometimes i'm handed a guitar that is really hard to play and it takes all i've got just to come off mediocre.

People say "Why isn't Phil famous". I think he is quite well known within the rock music industry, since he's performed live with Bon Jovi, recorded Tommy Lee's solo album, etc. If he was super famous then we wouldn't see him as the cool guy he is right now, and he would probably become more distant because of his status.

This is Howard Lessee's guitar he was the keyboard / 2nd guitar for Heart's original line-up & then for awhile after that line-up changed, he then traded riffs w/ Nancy like he did w/ Roger Fisher in the beginning. i love the 1960 burst's

I bought a brand new Les Paul and just got it yesterday, wow... only thing is, while waiting for it I cut my left hand pretty bad while fixing my car, so Ican't even play it. Since I'm off work while the stiches heal, i have to sit at home and just look at the damn thing... lucky enough it looks amazingly good.... '59 model, vintage sunburst AAArrrggh!

I agree, Went to my local guitar shop recently to try a new les paul std and was amazed at the amount of flaws on the guitar, overspray, sloppy edge binding etc, Still sounded amazing though, but when your paying that kind of money for a fine instrument you would expect it to be perfect.

Tone master amps were a rather cheap amp around in the 60's, Their low wattage, But the tone is outstanding, I found my fathers old original one in the attic, And he gave it to me as an awesome Christmas present, And, Im not sure where you could find one, But checking fretted americana for amps, Could be a smart idea (: They'll run you high these days. Hope that helped.
