3M Scotch Dispenser m-96. Made in U.S.A.
In this video i try for the first time POWDER COATING, let me know what do you think and how i can improve.
This tape dispenser is made in America, but i don't know exactly where.
Maybe you can find.
This are all the information about it :
Scotch Dispencer
for use with "scotch" brand pressure sensitive tapes
CAT. NO. M-96 MODEL 161
DEFINITE LENGHT DISPENSER
PAT. NO. 3,102,670 MADE IN U.S.A.
3M Company
I start this restoration by disassembled the scoth dispenser after that cleaning and removing the beautiful sticker.
After that as you can see i recive a beautiful parts washer fro Kai from IBS Germany.
After all cleaning was done in Parts washer i start stripping the paint with a gel stripper.
To remove rust i utilized a Rust remover from England
MC-51 IS A REALY GOOD PRODUCT!
To polish all the shiny metal parts took me so much time and so much dust from cloth wheel.
After days of work i start reassembly this beautiful machine.
I hope you like it ! And i really appreciate if you let me a thumbs up and comment!
Huge thank to all of my Patreon and PayPal supporters!

I've seen people intentionally pull the start cap off of motors - mostly buffing wheels. The motor becomes easily reversible - just a flick of the wheel in either direction when you turn it on... and most will start by themselves eventually after making a bunch of racket... and usually in the same direction... and it can be annoying... and they are thermally protected so in theory you can't start one on fire.

To add to the comments below, just a couple of things: - In powder coating, just like spray painting, many light "coats" works better than one heavy one. you want to sort of "mist" the powder on with the gun until the object is fully covered - Powder coat takes up a lot more space than paint. You want to make sure that anything that you don't want coated is either covered with tape, or greased so that the coating will wash off. If you powder coat a threaded hole, the odds are pretty good that the screw/bolt won't ever fit again. -That flat wire spring is called a spring clutch, and it works way better with a drop of oil wiped onto the inside. If you run it dry like you have it, they tend to slip and chatter. Other than that, good job!

Just a tip for the powder coating. They make the powder in a large range of colours, but you can always adjust them by adding the powder together e.g. if you wanted a real green colour, but non was available, simply mix blue & green powder together. If it is too dark, add white. Just put in a sealable container and turn it until they are totally combined and hey presto, you have the colour you wanted. The video looks great and I am so happy to see you are getting sent free stuff from companies to help you. Well done, you deserve it.

Dear Tysy, you fooled me. I didn't watch this video thinking it was the same one you uploaded a few months ago. It makes sense to try a "new" procedure with an item you are familiar with. However, I'm surprised that you were able to find the same tape dispenser. What are the chances? Wow... I would have tried to match the original color, but its your choice. Either way, fantastic work! 😉

Some advice for your powder coating, make a box with a with a furnace filter in the back wall with a vent pulling air out. This way you cut down on the extra powder getting everywhere and you help prevent dust getting onto the parts.
@Only1Shadow
@Only1Shadow 5 жыл бұрын
Maybe a very small vent fan - No strong air currents. You want the powder to drift around a bit so it coats evenly a lot easier. With bit of practice it's possible to "overspray" a bit and the powder should whip around and coat the back. A reasonably practiced hand can coat both sides at the same time without turning the piece.
