What a gem! Studebakers, Ramblers and Nashes seem way undervalued these days. When I moved from England to Ottawa at the age of 5 in 1963, a Lark was the first car I went in. Not a V8 and not a convertible. Still, it holds a special place in my heart.

I'm not sure what the prices of these cars will do in the future. It seems like the people who love them most are aging, and younger people aren't generally attracted to these cars. Hopefully people will learn to appreciate things other than '65 Mustangs and '57 Chevys!

@@rustyoldchevy1149 true. For me it's a nostalgia thing. I knew a few people with Firebirds, GTOs, Mustangs and Cougars but most people didn't have anything so iconic. It's the everyday cars which we had and my friends had which are important.

Awesome drive along man. Oh I did think of a question I wanted to ask you. I know most of these cars were back in the era of using leaded gasoline. Since that does not really exist anymore . How does using unleaded affect or not affect the engine? Does that make sense ??? I hope so.
@rustyoldchevy11492 жыл бұрын
There has been a lot of debate on that topic, but to me the old engines seem to do ok on modern fuel. Its the ethanol in the fuel thats bad for the fuel system(gaskets, hoses, etc.)
@josephlamb91752 жыл бұрын
Truth is the unleaded fuel is not a real huge concern. Many articles will tell you different , but on regular street driven cars of which I have owned many , never any real problems.
@josephlamb91752 жыл бұрын
It is a good question.

I feel what is more important is correct ignition timing and advance working correctly. This Studebaker has a solid lifter camshaft and valve adjustment is really important.

I hear what sounds like a nasty knock in the engine.
@rustyoldchevy11492 жыл бұрын
It does knock a little, but it has been that way since he got it going and he does drive it often.
