Nice work 👍 I’ve seen the lines actually spring a leak from touching the exhaust. Your comment about adding a bracket is a smart idea just to ensure you don’t have any problems. I ran fiberglass heat sleeve material on my lines as a preventative measure. Looking forward to more, will be watching!

Yeah - I melted some rubber hoses and all my oil drained out on the road in my split bus - so I have learned my lesson the hard way. I get the brackets later this week and I will get them firmly into place so they cannot touch the exhaust.

@@LarsonSplitBus- the most important thing is, it’s your build so you do what you feel is best. Don’t let those keyboard warriors tell you otherwise. Some do try to help and others just like to criticize. Personally I just give personal experience and try to encourage others. Have a great week and keep up the good work 👍

Can you tell me what are the size of NTP to AN fittings attached to where your pump is?
@LarsonSplitBus-3 ай бұрын
I believe for the full flow oil, I used 3/8 NPT to 8AN Flare. I have some straight fittings and some swivel and elbows. A company called “Evil Energy” makes good fittings and is available on Amazon…

I had an external cooler and filter added to my bug. Do you know what the procedure would be to change the oil? I imagine it's a bit different as I need to get all of the oil out of the lines and cooler.
@LarsonSplitBus- Жыл бұрын
Yeah - I just run the engine a bit to get the oil warm and less viscous, and then let it drain out of the sump. If I wanted to get it out of the cooler I would loosen the lowest point on the longer lines and let it drain out while the fuel filter is off and being changed. Then refill, knowing you will need to top it off once oil goes through the lines to the external cooler. Usually I just leave the oil in the cooler and just change 98% of the oil…. Laziness…
