Hello Mike, One thing i would strongly recommend is to take the oil tank out and wash it out. I always steam clean then out with a good soap and a steam clean, I use Truck wash in my steam cleaner. The hotter the better as it gets all the years of crap out of the tank. After a good hot rinse when clean, The heat in the oil tank after a good shake out, it will dry itself. Just a suggestion. Cheers and have a nice weekend. From Cumbria. U.K.

Fantastic project Mike. Glad to hear that your preserving the tank and side covers, they are part of this bike's story. I'm looking forward to following along as you clean and return this bike to being roadworthy.

Boys will be boys, eh? The more I see it, the more I love it. Coolest bike I've seen in years, and the best sounding of the three if you ask me. Keep them mufflers. A ball of tin foil dipped in white vinegar does a great job on pitted chrome. Give it a try. And I wasn't kidding about painting a helmet to match the bike. The crowing touch for the new Anglo-American Bad Ass.

Hi Mike. A couple of comments from me if I may, as you might remember me mentioning I owned a 1955 BSA A10 Gold Flash for some years but I have sadly sold her and after watching last week’s video it made me even more sad 😢. I done a dreadful thing and purchased ( I don’t know if I bring myself to tell you 🫣 ) a 2001 Honda Shadow ACE electric start and all that. It’s an American import by the way registered here in the UK in 2017 with less than 5000 miles on the clock ! With certain medical problems it makes life for me a lot easier but feel guilty now that I might be sent to “ Coventry “ and barred from the channel ( I hope not lol 😂 ) anyway I think the A10 sounds good and with your permission to continue watching the progress. Cheers Mike. Ray🇬🇧

Thanks a lot, I can’t wait to ride it. I’ve got the rear wheel in the mud guard assembly off at the moment, cleaning them, and then have to move all the way through the bike and do a decent service before I try and ride it. Cheers, Mike.

Great Find Mike! Congrats. "SC" I believe was the Scrambler Gearbox. "SCT" was a Scrambler box with Trials ratio gears. At least that seems to be how the Gold Star manual reads, and I imagine they were very similar.

That is fantastic. Your bike has a neat raspiness to the exhaust. Great.

I installed new Siamesed pipes and a Goldstar silencer on my 63. This was a factory option in 63, not sure about 62. I have a factory memo that claims 3hp extra with the Siamesed pipes. I couldnt feel any increase in power and the bike sounded nicer with the twin pipes. Too bad they were in rough shape. Yours look to be in good shape!
