Thanks for the lesson on changing the end wire clips. I too have a 62 Fleetside Shortbed Big back window c10 with a running inline 6 still in it. Looking to do a 400sbc engine soon. Im going to get a painles Wiring harness for it so I'm going to do bit of that myself. Wiring isn't that difficult after a bit of practice. Great job. Thanks . Truck Driver Ray ✝️

It took quite a bit of research to find all of the correct part numbers so I figured someone could benefit.

Think I’m going to have to do that. I have a 60’ Chevy Apache . Just switched the ignition like you, but now it’s not starting . It also stays on so I have to disconnect the battery every time I drive it

I ended up replacing the starter eventually also.

Having issues with my truck staying running on a 66 c10, I replaced the ignition switch thinking that maybe it wasn't clicking back to running mode after turning everything to start but i'm still having the same issue. It will fire and stay running if i'm holding the key to the right but as soon as i let go it dies.

There might be a ballast resistor in the system that sends more volatage to coil during starting and goes through the ballast resistor when running. That resistor may be open, put a test light on the coil during crank an start and see if the voltage drops out in the run position.

Did you figure it out? I have a 60 Apache that does this

I have a 72 C20, just put in a new ignition cylinder and it doesn’t feel like it’s seated all the way back. It will turn left to ACC but won’t turn right to ON or START. But I can start it with a flat head screw driver when I take the cylinder out. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you
