A great looking custom rampside. I love the mods you made, wild yet mild. Job well done. Brett

You took an old beauty and made it even prettier. Good job with that restoration, I can imagine all the work hours going into such a project. The fuel injection is ingenious..

Awesome Rampside! Neat seeing two unique and custom Rampys from BC, I'm sure you must know Eric! I saw his Rampside at the Econorun a few weeks ago! I met a lot of great folks from the new club. Besides Corvairs being some of the coolest vehicles ever made, most Corvair folks are pretty friendly which makes them even more fun!

i have a 63 van i went with a bigger tire on the back but i just ended up taking them off a year later it messed the transaxle up so bad i really didnt want to fix it again so i got alot of photos and too the 17s off. but you did a great job i would love to put a fuel injection set up on my engine.

Performance is really good. With the racing cam, the high end is really strong and using the F.I. I can compensate for the cam and dial in the lower end as well. The air tank is a 2 gallon tank which fit perfectly under the right front passenger floor panel. I have the air compressor mounted there as well which I plan to move to the rear engine bay.

Awesome restoration! But that fuel injection is a stroke of genius! It sounds terrific too! Would like to know how this helped boost hp. Very clever. Came across this after clicking on a link for a ramp side from the car and driver backfire blog. Very nice!

thats a great looking truck i will tell you that the 17s will rip out the rear end the tire has to beable to bend in the wheel when the truck moves up and down the swing axle rear end with a low pro tire will work fine at 1st but with time the yokes will be pushing hard up and down ripping apart the u joints and the spider gears

love your Greenbrier. Very clean and smooth. Great job. I was wondering if you could help me out, I will be airbagging my 65 GB. I have all the airmanagement, but now am figuring out which bags and brackets to purchase. Would you be able to help me with the name/brand/model of your airbags and brackets? Did you relocate your shocks? Any pictures of the install that you could send my way? Thanks so much! Art

Great job. Im looking at a rampside project. How much work involved to lower the rear, and what did you use for the airbags in front? Did you get your fuel injection perfected? Sounds like a good upgrade too.

Did he say lots of power for the 140 because I was thinking of buying one of these and putting a 140hp in it instead of the 89hp motor I just want to know if it would fit
@vair5 жыл бұрын
Swapping the 80hp to the 140 would fit just fine
@mclaynebalzly17395 жыл бұрын
Shawn thanks, this is a lot of help. Should you have to use one from a first gen Corvair or could you use one out of a 65. Because I know that they changed the suspension and I didn’t know if that screwed with the transaxle or anything
@vair5 жыл бұрын
You can use any year engine in any year car, however the engine shroud, Alternator/generator and rear motor mount is specific to early and late model cars. You may need to change these when doing the engine swap. I believe without doing modification to the suspension you should bolt the original transmission that came with the car to your new engine.
