How could no one have commented on this super exciting barn find reveal with almost 5300 views??? That was one awesome Vette to find just chillin under those blankets for so long. As a certified car guy, I literally had goose-bumps going on watching this video. Thanks so much for allowing me to see the start of a new beginning for this fine automobile.

I may be wrong, but that barn does not appear to be 50 years old.

50 yr old barn? Any response from the guy who made this video? Great call, I'm waiting for the response
@michaeldavis57754 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's not 50 years old, but the Corvette could have been stored somewhere else for many years, and then moved to this shed when it was built. I have several cars and bikes in my garage, and I'm planning on moving them to a newer building I'm working on.

We wanted to make a video of the previous owner driving the car, still might do it, but travel was expensive on this barn find.
@MrJeffcoley14 жыл бұрын
Bart Schwartz I kind of agree with you on that, because barn find usually means something that was parked because it was just an old POS and not special, until many years later. This owner knew he had something special and took great care to preserve it.

I agree Bart , and more and more of these so called “ barn finds “ are all over KZbin these days and most are complete bullshit .

Talk about a survivor! People just don’t realize how hard it is to find a clean # matching example of a car that was driven 100k miles. Cars back then usually fell apart at 30k miles if neglected.

62 Vette is great no matter where you find it but I promise you the tires wouldn't have air after 50 years, the storage building isn't 50 years old and how did they get a 62 Vette through a 3 foot door? And that wooden floor isn't sagging any after 50 years.

Nice vette. But not a 50 year barn find. All that cracking on the paint. I bet the fiberglass body is bad.

Working for a restoration shop I had the pleasure of completely assembling a '62 vette which had been taken completely apart by its owner's brother well over 30 years before. Our body shop took care of all the paint and i restored everything else including the trim, then put it completely together. They used to show the car as an example of the work they did. Earlier I put a '57 fuelie vette together with a bunch of custom stuff the customer wanted, it had been formerly raced and bashed up, so the body was extensively repaired. That one was a hell of a project as he wanted A/C and power steering added which wasn't easy to fit. Took 5th place at one of the big car shows though. This car doesn't look like it's going to need much, that all the bumpers and the interior are in nice shape is great.

Great looking '62 that finally will be put back into drivable condition. As a Corvette guy since I was 10 years old, now 75, it has always sickened me as to those fortunate enough to have this great American sports car, take it apart as with this '62, and not put it back together! Rather, cover it up and let sit in a barn or garage for the next 20 or 30 years. I have been fortunate to have had several and currently have a '95/C4 that I have done much mechanical work on myself under my carport in Florida and drive it almost every day! Corvettes were made to be driven, not stored in barns, garages or warehouses unless due to something like the owners death? The '62 in this video has always been my favorite year, but never owned one!!!

I had one like that in the early sixties - but mine was only 1/25 scale. Maybe because of that, I've always thought of the 62s in Roman Red as the best looking Corvettes. 99,999 miles, and still looking great - no steel body panels rusted out - fiberglass does have its advantages.

Question: Is there a method to trace car w/o V.I.N.? I owned a '62 Sateen silver over black 340 hp with two tops and 4 speed trans. Wonderful video, hope they can find gas for F.I. system!

My father had one like this, he had it since 1964, car only had 18000 miles on it, sold for 30000 3 years ago. He didn't want car anymore, he's into diesel swaps into pickups

I love cars and Corvette's are a favorite also. I get some of the original barn find cars but like everything else the fame of it has ruined most old original cars. The barn find needs to be reserved for those that aren't full of cracked paint and rust. I see the guys that don't wash the dirt off them and I just don't get it. But what ever floats your boat. I predict that like most fad's this to will pass. I remember when Porsche's literally quadrupled or one weekend of a famous guys Porsche selling for crazy money and now the are slowly creeping back to realistic prices . But as I said before , if that's what turns you on Then go for it. Just be prepared to lose your ass if you wait to long to get rid of it.

That paint on the rear where the cracks are looks way too thick to be factory the cracks they show on the rest of the car are not Lacquer cracks lacquer cracks are smaller! That car was repainted! They used lacquer on gm cars back then! That paint is NOT original!!!
@skiprussell26064 жыл бұрын
It's an ugly color anyway, I wouldn't want it if it couldn't be repainted. one solid color with the side detents a lighter color.
