In this video we walk around and describe the features of a 1962 Honda CB77 that I’ve recently finished restoring. We also cover what makes s 1962 unique compare to a 1963 or later Superhawk. I explain the process by which the bike was restored and talk about what parts were chromed and what parts were replaced. Finally, I show the bike is cold and start it up.

Beautiful. I got a real soft spot for this bike. I got to ride one on the regular as a young teen.

Hi. I was a high school kid on an American base in Japan, graduated in 1962. The reason the badge says “Dream 300” is that the name of the bike in Japan was the “Dream Super Sport.” That’s what we knew it as. I think the Super Hawk designation was for the American market, but later used for other bikes, as well. Thanks for the video. That machine is my “dream” motorcycle. Road several of them but never fortunate enough to own one. The ones in Japan were primarily black and silver, not red. Again, you had a 305 Dream Super Sport on your hands. To my eyes, the perfect design. A work of art.

She looks gorgeus. Too bad there aren't that many in Europe and they aren't this clean and sound this absolutely pristine. I'm guessing you're in the US? You're very transparent with what was done and the pride on the work done. Can't take the eyes and ears off, such a lovely machine, congratulations. Don't know how you have the heart to sell it, I'm guessing you do restorations constantly 😂 Oh that speedometer. Lord help me

Hi and thank you for the very nice comment. Yes I’m in the Florida, US and yes I do 3 to 4 restorations per year. This is my 8th CB77 Superhawk, my oldest and arguably my best one. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

This was my second ever bike but mine never looked like this. It certainly looked its age and well used. The one way clutch bearings in the starter were shot so that never worked so I had to rely on the kick starter which from memory kicked forward stead of back. But it ran and I had two engines. One with a 360 degree crank and the other had the 180 degree crank. You have a bit of blow back in the carbs, you may want to check your valve clearances or timing.

Gorgeous, had 2 in the early 80s, but loved my cd175 for my daily ride, sold all of them for peanuts, along with my husky 390 crosser to help pay for my first house😖😖😖

Imo a lot of thought went into the mfg of these bikes where beauty and function is balanced. The new bikes imo have let designers place bizarre looks over the functionality and comfort, and the lines don’t flow but zig and zag in unusual directions and are leaning towards the racetrack instead of a comfortable ride thru the country or commuting.

Usually eBay and Facebook marketplace. Sometimes Bring a Trailer (BaT). I have a red cb160 and a blue one I’m putting up for sale soon. Also a cb350. You can private message me via my Facebook page “kosmotocustoms” if you’d like. Thx.

Hello Jon, who does the speedometer restoration?
@kosmjon2
@kosmjon2 5 ай бұрын
I buy a new face decal on eBay and take the speedometer apart, check and lubricate everything, install the new decal and then put the speedo back together. It is a pain to do but the results are worth it.
