This is the trip to get to and drive back a 1962 Plymouth as one single video.
January 2023. It's 2800 miles to Seattle, Washington from North Carolina by way of Montana. There's a 1962 Plymouth Belvedere waiting for me to drive home. Which is 3500 miles headed south through California and back east by way of I-40/Route 66.
Me and my friend Tripp rent an econobox here in NC and head west. The plan is to get there quickly and then road trip the 1962 Plymouth home. We decided to go the northern route for added "fun" which is generally not recommended due to the harsh winter weather one can experience. But it's an adventure, right?
There are a lot of fun and interesting stops on this journey. Use the chapters to go to parts you want to see or go back to favorites! Enjoy the full-length IMMERSIVE experience!

Growing up, my family had a 62 plymouth wagon that my dad bought new with a 318 poly, push button auto, dealer underdash ac and no other options. Paint was institutional green. Bought from Madere's Plymouth in Hanhville Louisiana. Dad bought a new 1972 Mercury Monterey wagon and had the Plymouth hauled of in 1977. Wish i had been a few years older and c ould have revived it. Great video brings back al lot of memories of family trips we took in the 62.

I've managed to watch half of the movie tonight. I have liked it a lot. Some of it reminds me of my cross country road trip from LA to N.O. and then to Boston. Some of it reminded me of my trip to Yellowstone. And a lot of of it was cool because of your cinematography.

Good TV on tonight, but I watch this 3 hour long video instead. Love that Plymouth!! Too bad you missed the most scenic parts of Oregon. Someday you'll have to visit the Columbia River Gorge, and certain parts of Eastern Oregon. There is some jaw dropping scenery and remote areas around the central and Southern parts of Eastern Oregon. Anyway, that car is fantastic!!

I had watched your 73 Newport video a while back. I like cars and liked the way you did your vid, so that enough that I would subscribe. however today when I saw you had a roadtrip vid, I was kind of interested. then I saw how long it was (as you made a humble remark that ppl might not watch it all). Was a sunday afternoon and im 2 hrs into it. it has been GREAT watching it, as the details you put in made it almost seem as if I was there. I was (am) impressed you could drive the standard transmission....im a year older than the car and I couldnt do that! it as well was ultra cool "riding along" with you guys, as it was sort of like becoming friends with you due to the way you put this together. you really did a good job and im sure ill be watching more frequently since I enjoyed this one a great deal. thanks!

Great road-trip video. That '62 Belvedere sure looks sweet. I enjoyed seeing your overnight stay in Centralia, WA because Centralia is my hometown and I spent most of my life living in town, or the area outside it. The Olympic Club is quite the watering hole and has a lot of history connected with it. Back in the early 1920's my maternal grandfather managed the cardroom there.

When we went to Arizona, we did a lot of the same things -- stayed at La Posada, stood on the corner in Winslow AZ, went to the Petrified Forest and saw the Studebaker, walked over the Rio Puerco bridge, stopped at the Wigwam Motel. When we were there, the Wigwam office was open. The cars were cool, especially the VW camper. Great video, thanks!

2:27. The Ford Dealer in Tucumcari NM. I was driving my 66 TBird from Oklahoma to Beale Air Force Base in Northern California in 1986. Just before entering Tucumcari the transmission started blowing fluid out and on the exhaust creating a smoke bomb of a car. I got a room and the next morning I was at the Ford dealer when they opened. The old man looked at the car and said: "those old cruise-o-matics just do that sometimes". I put more fluid in it and made it on to NorCal without any further issues. I remember the shape and the color of the Ford dealership.. Too bad it closed down.
