1963-1967 Corvette Coupe Door Glass Install

Hey guys and gals, welcome to my KZbin channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content. This time I am installing the window glass, vent windows, and regulators into my Coupe. It doesn't appear easy and if you do the steps in the wrong order it is very hard. But if you take your time and follow the correct work flow its easy.

Thanks Mitch, just installed glass on my 63 and without this video would be lost on how to get it back in. the glass came out of the channel so getting it out was easy putting in back in had to review the video like three times!!! Thanks keep posting

I'm glad it helped! I was a little worried putting my first one in, but once you do it the process isn't that daunting. It takes some patience. @@MidYearMitch excellent! thx, next is replacing and rebuilding the fuel pump, I think I heard its easier to take the wheel off and attack it from the side

@@MidYearMitch Oh and the other note on taking the door penal off I spent good three hours taking off the door lock handle off, the retaining clip will not come out using the t-shirt method or the special tool, only a tool I had to make with tiny hook on the end. made it out of stainless steel clamp

@@stanzhubrak818 I honestly didn't think to do that but it would make sense. I personally like to avoid jacking the car up. So I laid on a blanked and I was able to get to it pretty easily. I had good success from going from that angle.

@@stanzhubrak818 when you put the knobs back on make sure you are consistent with your clip placement from side to side. I think my clips open up. I used the corner of that special tool and a pair of needle nose pliers. That job can be a pain but it seems like you just keep grabbing tools until it comes off haha.

Hey Mitch, working on restoring 63 convertible, love your videos, do coupes and convertibles have same door glass?

Hey David coupes and convertibles use different door glass and vent window glass. The coupe door glass is shaped differently. Auto city classics makes pretty nice glass.

Hey Mitch - having a problem with my 65 steering mast - do you have any videos on that - guessing that the 63 and 65 are similar. thanks Jim

Hey Jim. I don't have any videos on that. To get the column out there should be the 2 screws on a collar to the gauge cluster, a U bolt with a bracket under the dash, a clamp on the firewall by the boot, and the rag joint. If you remove all of those and persuade it, the column should come out. The bolt for the rag joint needs to be removed completely also. The splines get rusty and it doesn't like to let the column out easily. Hope that helps! If not you can email me at [e-mail]
