Hi Mitch, i went back to watch this video again only this time for business and not pleasure. I installed my speedometer cable and in the process loosened some bulb sockets. These videos have proven to be a great library time and time again. Thanks!

That sounds like a great car music makes us happy! They are a labor of love. You really have to like these cars to put this effort into them.

sonnenbrandambauch I appreciate it! I’m so glad I made these videos because it’s fun to go back and watch it over again. Sometimes it goes by too fast and it’s fun to watch it happen all over again!

@@MidYearMitch hey man. One of the knobs above radio, lower right says tuning. What's that for? one of the knobs says volume so it's not volume.

The restorer did the tachometer face correct for a 1963. Yellow to red! 1964 through 1967 are Orange to Red. I personally would have left the back of the cluster alone, i.e no paint. That way you would still have the ink stamping with the date and part number.

That was a fun part of the rebuild. I did all my rewiring from under the dash. I wish I would have seen this video first. I would have had much less pain. Gotta ask you, how often do you drive your 63? Stay safe.

You should have used direct replacement LED lamps and eliminate all original old bulbs.

I agree to disagree. I wanted to get my car NCRS judged so I went with all stock components. Those bulbs are a pain to install so I stuck with oem bulbs.

Great content and awesome car! I have 6 knobs on center console stack. I need to replace the bezels because a few are broken. Some of the knobs screw off. Can't figure out radio and other knobs. Do you know how to remove?
@MidYearMitch
@MidYearMitch 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Rotate the radio knobs and there are little set screws in them. Then you should be good to go.

A Simple question; Do you think you can create a Right Hand Drive Dash and pedals?
@MidYearMitch
@MidYearMitch 2 жыл бұрын
That definitely could be done. There would be a lot of little things to do to make it work but it could be done. There is a 63 Z06 that was converted to right hand drive for Australia back in the day.

Also, random question. For the power window switch, does down make window go down and up go up? The switch in mine is press down to make window go up and press up to make window go down. Seems like wires are switched or buttons upside down.
@MidYearMitch
@MidYearMitch 4 жыл бұрын
Either they are backwards on the switch in the console or the wires are switched on the regulators themselves.

Brian Kapp sure thing! I’m 99% sure mine uses the same convention as a new car. But I drive with the windows down all the time so that’s why I left 1% of uncertainty 😂

I just put a flat screwdriver between the two and lightly twist it and push the button iff. It should pop right off.

@@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports sure thing. Sometimes the rivets on the back get loose so you can tighten them up when you have it off if you need to.

Mitch always spends too much time on cosmetic description and then fast forwards through the assembly/disassembly which is the critical portion.

This video in particular was rushed because I was thrashing to get the dash in the car so I could fire it up. It takes 2-3 times longer to do something when you document every step. Firing up the car took priority over filming. Also is the comment written to me or to the audience? You referring to me in 3rd person is confusing. I try to improve each video and I can’t make everyone happy. I have to keep it moving so I don’t bore the many but I need to include enough detail to help folks that need it. It’s a balance.
