Do you not have an engine lathe on campus? One would presume you could do much better with a engine lather with a large four jaw chuck.

How do you now that the inner planetary gears & clutch plates were not contaminated with dust & waste material from machining the ring gear face. May have been prudent to machine the ring gear face before disassembly as you could be sure of a clean rebuild

If you actually watch the video you will see and be told that the inner workings were removed for machining. @8:39 you are shown a closeup of the empty case. Please explain how you are able to ask this question.
