Continuing on the bottom of the engine I replace the old exhaust donuts and seal the oil pain. Perhaps I was a little early on the oil pan, apparently that will need to come off again. We live and learn, this is all fine, progress is made.
For great videos on removing and sealing Corvair engines please see the following. These channels really gave me the encouragement to tackle this project I have been putting off for a long time.

Nice job! They are addictive to work on. I’m like you it’s hard to just slap it back together with sprucing it up.

Right. I know the mechanical is most important, I feel better if it looks like I changed something.

I keep meaning to ask--is that a 1967 senior Chevy in the adjacent bay?

Yes, that is my 67 Caprice, originally with 327. I have owned that one the longest, almost 30 years now. I had a panic when I found out we were pregnant with our first kiddo, and tore the whole thing apart... 13 years later we have made some progress, but everything else has jumped in front of it. Apparently I am doing a first in, last out format. That said, I am planning on getting it at least to move under it's own power very soon. Fingers crossed I do not get further distracted.

@@rustaholic9029 Thanks for the rest of the story!! Though I'm Mopar-first, I do appreciate the GM big car platform from 1965 through 1970.
