I love this dryer, definitely one of my first TOL vintage dryers I’ve ever owned since it has a wide array of temperature options on it. Only way to make appliances like these is to my Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII set go viral on the internet and someone maybe even Whirlpool would consider making such appliances like these again if they really go that viral on the internet.

This dryer has definitely seen use over the years and one thing that’s interesting is the Kenmore dryer drums of this era are all porcelain compared to the Whirlpool dryer which only have a painted drum and I believe Kenmore only had painted drums on their more basic lower end dryer as opposed to the Lady Kenmore dryers of the era.

I like a dryer where the whole drum turns. Only a couple years away from the design they would still be using to this very day. Of course most probably know the old belt drives weren't the fastest spinners but their dryers certainly made up for it.
@seana8063 жыл бұрын
The Whirlpool belt drives don’t spin very fast but at the time they were developed and introduced in 1947, 515 rpms was quite fast compared to the bolt down front loaders that only had a 200 to 300 rpm spin speed not to mention those early front loaders didn’t wash or rinse as well to the top loaders that preceded them. Top loaders really are more modern than front loaders since they were a answer to those early front loaders that didn’t wash or rinse all that well. I think the reason why the Whirlpool 29” dryers work so well is the exhaust outlet is behind the tumbling clothes and since the incoming hot air enters on the opposite side, the hot air it literally forced through the clothes which explains why they dry fairly quickly.
@patcola73353 жыл бұрын
@@seana806 Not only that Sean but the drums are wider in the 29" design so better tumbling room and more fabric surfaces exposed to the forced heat. My Amana dryer is running now even though it isn't the build quality of this 63 Whirlpool dryer. It dries very well. Plenty big for the loads that come out of the Amana washer.
@seana8063 жыл бұрын
If you had a standard capacity old school belt drive washer, laundry would come out wrinkle free since since there would be tons of room for the clothes to tumble around not to mention the speedy drying times. My ‘63 Whirlpool dryer is different from the newer designs like your Amana but works well since I never overload my ‘63 Whirlpool washer. Another flexible feature I like is the 2 speed fan which drops the wattage of the element on the normal drying temperature and brings up the wattage on super which has allows for 8 drying temperatures.
