On "My Car Story" we're in the Suburbs of Chicago on 7-9-16.
We're looking at a 1964 Buick Wildcat Convertible in Red Paint.
The car's Owner is Buz. Buz’s first car was a “Wildcat” and he had hoped one day he’d get another one. After looking for 20 years to get “His first car back”, he found this one at auction and was the High Bidder in 2014 and brought this one home. This car features the largest engine Buick had in 1964, which was the 425 cubic inch “ nailhead ” engine, with dual quad carburetors.
ENJOY!

Our Mother's 1965 Wildcat convertible was red like this, and had white interior. The chrome plated rear speaker with chrome grill had "Reverb" on the 66 Riviera I had in my youth. Still have a soft spot for the old Buick's!

I love this owner's reason for finding that car..... I feel the same way about the first car I ever owned but finding that Chrysler is impossible. This is what the hobby should be all about! True passion.

@@loucostabile Absolutely. It was indeed, very impressive seeing all those cars of the golden age of muscle cars, from late 50s, 60s and 70s models. It really caught my attention when the Riviera, Wildcat and Le Sabre were presented on a full detailed demonstration.I'm speechless. Those cars cannot be compared to the performance of the 80s ,90s and even the Y2Ks.

My father purchased a convertible wildcat for mom in the early 70’s for $500! Wonderful running cars that were very dependable. A few years later, older brother took for joy ride and totaled it! Still remember it though! Thx Lou!

In 1965, my dad bought a 1964, candy apple red Buick Wildcat convertible. Power windows, power brakes, power steering. Four barrel carb. That car was so fast, it was like a rocket. It was passed down to me in 1973. Here it is, 2020, and I actually have dreams about opening the garage and finding that car inside.

Beautiful car Lou. The red color accented with the front fender chevons and the chrome plated wheels. This car was obviously optioned for performance. No power brakes, and the absence of many luxury options that were frequently ordered on Wildcats in 64 such as air conditioning, power windows and seat. These were upper medium priced cars that competed with Pontiac Grand Prix and Olds Jetstar 1 and the non letter series Chrysler 300.

The Wildcats were among the best "all around" cars of the '60s for style, comfort, drivability. And the '64 may have the most attractive face of the decade...so much so that Chrysler cribbed it for their '66 300.
