On the front windsheild, where the lower belt trim goes but underneath, the piece that goes across the dash, the one that kisses the dash. Does that piece have to be off to put the seal in? I see it's in on your video but just want to know if you have to take it off before you put the seal on because mines I on already.

These videos are great. How does that roof rail mount? It looks like my old rails were held on with butyl. Do the roof rails have clips?

Matt Denham Thank you 👍 the roof rail trim just snaps in, no clips, you have to start rolling it in from front to back at a angle, once you get to where trim starts to curve down the trim will be bent out, looks like it’s bent but just keep rolling it on from top to bottom till you get to the end. Sounds difficult but it’s pretty easy once you start it.

@@RedRocket64 I got the drip rail in. I mean the roof rail, where the window meets up with the window seal. It holds the window seal,? I can't buy a new piece and the old one has a ton of butyl on the back side of it. Do you know how that part mounts? Thanks again!

Matt Denham oh sorry, I was thinking of the drip rail, the roof rail has screws under the weather strip/ window seal, you have to remove the window seal to expose the screws, the butyl doesn’t necessarily have to be removed unless it’s in the way when putting the roof rail back on, the butyl purpose is to keep water out.

Nnvmarksman Perez I would honestly never recommend chrome plating stainless steel, stainless can be polished to a mirror finish and will stay that way the life of the car, its also way more durable then chrome plating. I chrome plated all the aluminum on the car, the stainless was polished. Although you can polish aluminum to a nice finish it will never be as bright and will start to fade within days/weeks depending on your environment.

Nnvmarksman Perez well it would just be chrome but fragile to any bending or overlapping. polished stainless looks just as good or better if polished correctly and will outlast Chrome plating any day. If you car is a hardtop you wouldn’t be able to chrome the drip rails, you have to bend those to put the on, the chrome would flake right off. I would advise just to polish the stainless.

How did you get the rubber seal onto the quarter window trim ?

Man that is a bit of a process if you want to do it correctly. It originally comes with just a few tabs supposedly just to insert in original holes (don’t match) and push into place. That does not work at all. It may hold it but once you lower/raise your window your rubber seal will go with it. You need to drill tiny holes and use heavy staples which you insert by hand after you make your two holes for each staple. I used 5 staples just for that piece, drill ten holes, two for each staple. Seems crazy, but this will insure you seal won’t go anywhere when you use your windows. Hope this helps.

Mike Hughes You need a trim remover tool, looks like arrow, you need to pry on CLIPS ONLY from behind the trim with that tool to get the trim free. It’s very tedious, you have to take your time because it’s easy to put an “outtie” on the stainless trim if you don’t pry on the clip only.

@@stevevasquez7754 it has 3 screws holding it on, inside the door under the weather strip, some doors have 4 screws, they are very small, I would spray them with wd-40 or something similar before you try to remove them, they strip very easily.
