We’re looking at a 1964 Shelby AC Cobra in Black Paint. The car comes with a V8 engine with a 4 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is Sharon Roberts. Sharon’s had this car since 1976. Sharing shares her Husband Don used to be a race car Champion, She shares she’s driven this car and it’s “Lots of fun”. From the sounds coming from this car, I believe she’s right.

I was blessed to be born in the early 50s and grow up thru the 60s and 70s with beautiful cars. When a few buddies could campaign a car to run at Sebring and drag strips had gravel pitts and you run what you brung! We rode to Sebring in my Dad’s Tornado when the likes of Steve McQueen, James Garner, Mark Donahue, Mario Andretti, Jim Hall and others drove Ferraris, GT40s, Chapparrells, Posches, Camaros, Mustangs, AMCs, Cobras, MGs, Triumphs, etc. Thanks again for the fun!👍❤️

The steering wheel has been replaced and the bill boards look a little awkward in the 289 Cobra. Several changes were made under the hood. Lines, oil return tank. I own CSX4766 which is a 427s/c

From the first time I ever laid eyes on one.. it became my favorite car and I can’t say it’s changed. Shelby was such a visionary and so glad to see Sharon still has a passion for a car that’s obviously been very special in her life.. ❤

Carroll Shelby said a number of times that his favorite Cobras were the 289 cars. They were lighter than the FE cars, and their weight distribution was better. He was from the school of designers who thought the best way to improve performance and handling was to reduce weight. This is a nice example of an early Cobra.

Once, I went in a car show, and I saw a Shelby Cobra 427/AC Cobra 378 in gray (they both look the same, but they both are from different countries). It was so cool seeing it in person. In every antique, vintage, classic cars show, the is a small chance to see an Edsel in person, because Ford Motor Company, or Fool Motor Company (he designed the 58 & 59 Edsel grille, because Fool Motor Company doesn't know how to design a car) gave up on Edsel, and Edsels are quite rare, now. Poor 58 and 59 Edsels.

What the hell does a Ford Edsel have to do with Lou presenting a Ford powered British A/C fool?

@@cobracharmer6178 Well, Shelby WAS associated with Ford. When I think of Ford, I think that Ford is just a foolish car company that doesn't know how to design a car. Ford just made a car brand named Edsel, with the bad grille design in 1958 and 1959 (poor 1958 and 1959 Edsels, but luckily, the 1960 Edsels didn't have the bad grille). I don't care WHAT it has to do about it.

¡Espectacular Shelby AC Cobra 1964! Ésa pintura negra tenía un efecto especial; ya que, a veces, se percibía como si fuese un azul muy obscuro. Un interior sin concesiones, típico de las carreras. I had an old friend that raced Cobras a few times....he said it was like a drag race driving the 427, you'd leave the 289's sitting in the straightaway and then they'd all catch up in the turns. I'd prefer the 289.

I would question Many Things and Upgrades to this Cobra . It seems to have been TOTALLY Restored quite recently . All the appliances and Details look Very new and clean . It appears as if a lot of features have been altered or changed since its Original Build . This Cobra was Not built as a Competition Model .It was originally a Street Car ,converted for competition as was Many of the Cobras back in the day . This Car was very successful in its Racing debut. Its a bit Sad that NONE of the original Patina still exist on it . Its No wonder folks believe its a Kit car replica . This Cobra is a Rare Beauty No Matter : )
