I had several of these! They give a very comfortable but slow ride. They were used by the police for patrolling parks and quiet residential streets, rather than motorway chases! The problem is their front mounted dynamo - it easily gets wet and is impossible to repair if it fails . BUT AT LEAST THE BIKE HAS AN AMMETER, unlike modern cars!!!!

I have one! Ex-Met Police Bike. I have owned it for over 40 years. I don't disagree that they are not the best example of a bike designers art, but they are full of character. The platform at the back used to have the radio box mounted on it by the way.

I had a maintenance book for these as well as my Venom, and it pointed out that the oil level in the LE was set too low by the original dipstick, which needed shortening, but I cannot remember how much.

My nan's next door neigbour had one, rode it to work for years & i can remember he used to sing when he was riding it, if you can call it singing!. The bike was silent & you could hear this eerie noise going along the road if you couldn't see him ... was weird!!
