My late brother own a pretty one and used it to go everywhere before he went to Vietnam and when he came back and recovered from his wounds which took about a year. He would drive from Ct to Boston Ma every weekend to see his GF. That car was involved in a bad accident and he was able to drive it for a few more years then he purchased a new one. That was the only car he would own for his entire life right up to the day he passed away. I can't recall his last one. It was maroon and had some nice bumpers black with chrome. He had the last one restored and it was a good car for him and his family. My nephew has it in his garage and will not sell it and all he does is take it to car shows when he has time. I am going to forward this video to him so he could see why his dad loved Volvo's

this was the car I restored many years ago for my friend in San Francisco. I got it back to sort it out after sitting for 10 years or so in his garage not being able to drive it because of blindness , Was able to sell it for him. A real nice car. It won its class at a Volvo meet one year.

I had the twin of the car in the video - same model, same year, same colour. 1964-68, in Nova Scotia.

I had this exact model and color (but people called it the gray rat). It ran like a dream. One of my favorite cars I have ever had. The engine ran perfect and smooth, never failed to start, climbed a mountain road with total ease, purred like a kitten. I often think about this car.

Always liked this model. Reminds me of a '48 Ford, only a lot smaller.

and better

@@throughmyeyes9940 But the 48 Ford had a V8 engine, column gear shift, bench seats, and the rear passenger windows opened.

All Volvos up to PV544 were very much influenced by American designs. But the PV444 was first shown to the public in 1944, so they can't have copied the Ford.

Gorgeous! Been searching for one of these or a 122 to daily drive!

Where is the little chain you pull to raise/lower the window shade in front of the radiator. Until it walrmed up on winter days.

Agree , use the seatbelt.

Yup - I said that too, when I saw it hanging up while he was driving.

seat belt?
@GeneHChan5 ай бұрын
I noticed - the driver didn't wear it! The business end of it was hanging up by his left ear, on the doorside pillar.
