My Dad got a fantastic deal on a red Wagoneer that was almost brand-new when I was a baby, probably '64 or '65. It was a running joke because it was LITERALLY worth more than our house. Poignant to see this one get crushed (man, it crushed SO flat) but yeah, no fixing that.

I saw the body rolling up off of frame while he was sorting the door, no real frame collapse. Not that it matters as it definitely puffed a rusty cloud at the end, poor thing was dust. Was a cool color tho.

Unfortunately, they always had corrosion problems, even through multiple ownership changes: AMC, AMC/Renault, and finally Chrysler...they all seem to rot out behind the wheels, and in the front seat floor pans.

@huntermossakajunkerman96463 жыл бұрын
This is why cars here in the south where I live last longer, no road salt. The town where I live in Georgia still has unmodified original 60's and 70's vehicles driving around. It's sad to see a once beautiful car which used to be a family's pride and joy fall victim to salt. Why can't we replace salt yet? Why can't we just use alcohol or some kind of antifreeze liquid that isn't harmful to the ecosystem? We have the technology, why?
